Play Ball

It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon so we headed outside for some ball.

We have a wonderful, big, shady tree in our back yard.....the downside, it's a gumball tree. Ugh. I hate those darn gumballs. Its so hard to play in the yard when they fall. So, Vince and I raked some up to give us room. He's quite the helper.
I hope the VCU Rams are ready for Vince to play with them this weekend! He's training for the Final Four!
Yep, he's ready!
Then we decided to play hopscotch.
That boy loves to JUMP!
Or bounce....whatever!
"MOMMY, MAKE IT BIGGER!!" he demanded....
So we went from 1-10 then A-Z. Hopefully, with all that jumping he'll sleep good tonight.
Apparently even A-Z wasn't enough for him...
Warning: I'm about to get sappy so feel free to stop reading: Its days like these that make it so hard to believe he's starting school full-time in 2 weeks. I'm not ready......SO NOT READY! I'll probably cheat and keep him home with me at least 1 day if not both Tuesday and Thursday. We're doing it for several reasons: 1) he LOVES school 2) I need to rest occasionally so I don't end up in the hospital with this pregnancy like I did with him 3) if I do end up in the hospital, we need somewhere for him to go full-time....and there's a waiting list for his class 4) he would probably start full-time in the fall anyway but I don't want him to blame the baby for him having to go full-time SO here we are at my dilemma. I know he loves school (and sometimes we can't even get him to leave) BUT he loves mommy days too and it might just break my heart for those to be over. I can't believe I'm not more excited to have actual me-time for the first time in 3 years but I'm not....at all. Like Tony keeps telling me, "You don't have to take him but at least it's there if we need it." We'll see how this goes.

Vince and Dr. Liz

Well we survived our first dentist appointment today! It actually went really well! Dr. Liz was super sweet and explained everything she was doing....in kids terms. (Tony thinks he looks terrified here but I promise he wasn't)
She checked out all his teeth and said everything looked great! When he got down he even said "this is so cool".
He even got a puppy dog balloon and a Batman toothbrush.
Way to go Vince!

What we've been up to......

This post is a little random.....sorry.

Ever since I discovered that he could write so well, I figured we should practice a few more words. Hmmm.....this one may need a little work:
but his Hannah looks pretty good!
Our newest favorite book is Chika Chika Boom Boom so we made this coconut tree with his forearm and hands then practiced our letters as we dug them out of a pile of foam letters.
Since the only word he knows that starts with H is Hannah (I swear this boy is smitten), we broadened our horizons with this craft that I found here. Now at least we know 2 words :)
While I was cutting out the H and hands above he wanted to use his scissors too so I made a few roads for him to cut out. Mr. Independent.

Here's a little clip of his mad pitching skills:

And him shaking his booty.....which he does all the time. He now walks into school every morning and goes up the the front desk lady and shakes his booty for her. Its pretty amusing. Don't mind the Go Diego Go undies in this one....we've been attempting to potty train (again) today....but its gone much better today than ever before (maybe we're finally ready!!).

Thirty-One

Some of you have asked me what Thirty-One is. They sell super cute bags and accessories at very reasonable prices! Here's a few pictures of the bags I bought! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this zebra print thermal tote (and have gotten lots of compliments on it so far). I cram all my food for my long work days in here. Isn't it adorable?? If I tell you it's only $14, does it make it any cuter? Heck yeah!
I also got this matching zippered pouch ($12) and organizing utility tote ($22) to use as a diaper bag for baby #2. The tote has 7 side pockets....perfect for bottles, sippy cups, water, etc. It kind of reminds me of my ridiculously expensive Kate Spade diaper bag I used with Vince (except it was all black).
That's right, I bought 3 new cute bags and I didn't even have to hide them (not that I do that...ever) b/c I didn't spend that much money! I hope that you will check out my friend Cory's Thirty-One website at http://www.mythirtyone.com/coryhedrick/ . Click on view our catalog and browse their great selection! I hope that you guys will come to my party on Saturday April 9th at 2pm!!! See ya soon!

I want a Willis

Vince and I have had a WONDERFUL day off together today. I was a little afraid because he's been a monster, a holy terror, unruly difficult the last few days. He has put our patience to the test made parenting interesting. Considering that we had to start our day at my Dr. office for a blood pressure check, it could have gone downhill fast but it didn't! My pressure was great and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat again! Vince thought it was pretty cool to hear "Willis". Since my Dr is conveniently located near a Krispy Kreme shop, I treated Vince to a warm chocolate iced donut with sprinkles...but believe it or not he was much more interested in watching the donuts be prepared than actually eating one! Then we went shopping for a few things and little one scored a sweet baseball watch (because I also bought Daddy a watch).

I also got a video of him talking about Willis (and picking boogers....don't judge!).

And here is a short video that basically describes the last few days.....grumpy, mean, and down right rotten! I sure hope my sweet boy is back to stay!

Rainy day

So today was pretty.....wet. A good day to stay inside and in our jammies. Vince has a new found love for my Cricut (I mean he seriously asks me to use it...all the time!) so we cut a few flowers and things to make artwork with. Again, I'm trying to reinforce letter recognition so I got these ideas from this website. Its no surprise his favorite letter is V!

I've had a few requests for belly pictures......so, here's the first one:
Evidently my child thinks I'm a house already. Yikes! But really, I promise some pics to come soon....I'm always behind the camera instead of in front. Have a great day.....and don't forget to DONATE TO THE EASTER SEALS!

Bend it like Vince

An instructor from Richmond Little Kickers comes to Vince's school every Wednesday for soccer lessons so his new passion is SOCCER! I took him to the park today to kick the ball around before his next class tomorrow. He is quite the natural. PS - don't pay attention to his crazy hair.

I know you probably can't tell but those are his super cool soccer cleats from his Aunt Carey and Uncle Bill. They were a little big when they got them but someone's been going through a growth spurt so they fit just fine now!

Gone Fishing

Our new favorite game is "Let's Go Fishing". A few days ago he could only "catch" them if the game was off and they didn't move but today he mastered the game and can catch them with it on. This did however cause some fierce competition between mommy and daddy (For the record, I kicked his butt).
So proud:
Such concentration:
Now that I'm finally getting some energy back, we did some arts and crafts. I totally stole these ideas from this cool website that makes stuff from toilet paper rolls. Clever, huh? We made our caterpillar to look like our new book.
This one is from a few days ago (when it rained all day). We made the raindrops with toilet paper rolls....who knew you could do so much with tp??
Lastly, we made a letter A alligator in honor of his favorite story....5 Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree (about an alligator who snaps up all the monkeys).

The Big Boy Room Reveal

I think we finally have Vince's Big Boy Room all done...key word, think. His tool chest dresser just got delivered the other day and after several trips to Hobby Lobby (my newest love) for wall decor, it finally looks like a bedroom (instead of the playroom it's been for 2 years). Whatcha think??

We still do tons of arts and crafts at the table so I want it to stay in here, even though there's not a ton of room. Yes, I know there are pieces of the wall decal road that are missing but those darn things just won't stay up....they may all come down sooner than later.
He absolutely LOVES his car bed.....and it's got a super comfy memory foam mattress so mommy loves it too!

Yes, that's a flat screen TV and Blu-Ray Player in my 2 year old's room...blame his Daddy, not me.

Umm......my kid has too many clothes (except for the 4 pair of jeans on top, those are all shorts).
Yes mom, his shirts are arranged by color too.....I don't know any other way.
Out-takes:

We'll be doing some "fishing" later.....pics to come :)
