28 Week Update

Wow, really? 28 weeks already? So after having Braxton-Hicks contractions almost all day yesterday and a spike in blood pressure, my Dr reduced my hours to a max of 8 hour shifts (insert "hallelujah" here). Hoping this plan lasts for the next 12 weeks and there aren't any bigger problems to face down the road.

Also, just a quick update about our friends Justin and Sara. Ironically, their ultrasound appointment was at the exact same time as my appointment today and at the same office so I got to greet them as soon as they found out what they were having.....it's a BOY! So, Vince and Hannah will be joined by Dominic, Ellie, and Eli in Sept, Oct, and Nov. Congrats guys!

Pinterest

Have you heard about Pinterest.com? Have you tried it yet? WHY NOT? I basically wasted spent the entire weekend perusing other people's creative ideas. Let's see if you can guess who the fat pregnant lady is by what I "pinned"......food, chocolate, more food, more chocolate....

Peanut butter and chocolate crescent rolls? I made these tonight and they were delish!

These are next up....see, there's fruit on there...I branch out occasionally!

Nutella cupcakes? Yes please.

Smore's on a stick? Of course.

Smore's cookies? Hello....have we met?

Chocolate chip cookie cupcakes filled with ice cream? Duh. Fruit? Eh, Maybe.

Mini-banana splits? Do you have to ask?

I also "pinned" a TON of kids craft ideas. Since I was glued to the computer being lazy a little preoccupied, Vince played a lot of Angry Birds on the iPad (yeah, I know...worst mother ever) SO when I saw this nifty idea, I knew it would be a good craft for us to do so we could both step away from the technology overload.

Vince wanted to make the white and green ones. Here's our version.

I also "pinned" A LOT of maternity and newborn pictures. My sister is taking my maternity shots this week and I can't wait! We both have so many ideas it may take all day but it should be fun! Will post them later this week! Have a great week!

Wordle

In my hours of blog stalking, I ran across this site www.wordle.net that creates "word clouds". Basically you type in the words you want and it creates a super cute image. You can then alter the placement of words and colors. Here's what I made for Dominic's room in an 8X10 image. Cute, huh?

Wordle: Dominic

Here's a few other ones I pinned from Pinterest....hopefully I can recreate them too! (Update: I just realized this site cuts off the right side of these pics..oops! You get the idea)

The next great golfer

We took Vince to the driving range with his new golf clubs this past weekend. He could've spent the entire day just hitting balls if we'd let him....and he's really good. He could be the next Tiger Woods....you know, minus the adultery.

San Francisco

Tony and I were lucky enough to get away for a few days last week (thanks to our parents). He was at the WWDC conference (aka the Apple nerd conference) in San Francisco so I flew out at the end to join him and celebrate our 10th anniversary. He surprised me with these beautiful flowers (which I hated to leave at the hotel when we left).
We did a little shopping in Union Square and found these adorable Adidas shoes for Vince and Dominic so that they match Daddy.
On the way back to the hotel, I was intrigued by this logo on a shop around the corner and the amazing smell wafting into the street. Fresh cream puffs? Sure! That sounds fantastic.....so we went in.
Holy crap, they were better than I could've imagined. The guy looked at me funny when I ordered one of each flavor.....and a few cheesecake sticks. Whatever :) These are actually from the 2nd batch we got the next day. I couldn't stop myself from devouring the first ones long enough to take a picture. Heavenly.
We cleaned up a bit (meaning I wiped the strawberry and powdered sugar off my face) and headed out to my surprise anniversary dinner at Cliff House in Ocean Beach.
Here's a view from our table.
After dinner we braved a little walk down the cliff (which was much easier than the walk back up).

So, we didn't go much farther than this sign :)
My 25 week pose:

We rented a car Friday morning and drove down the Pacific Coast. We planned to go to Monterey and/or Pebble Beach but didn't make it the whole way....still had a great time and saw some beautiful sights. Here's what most of the drive looked like......a steep cliff overlooking the ocean. So glad my dad wasn't driving, we would've ended up in the water.
Not only was the scenery beautiful, but the weather was amazing too. It was all of 67 degrees and breezy. Not your typical ocean weather for June. Thankfully we missed the heat wave back in VA.

We had to stop at this lighthouse at Pigeon Point. Isn't it gorgeous?!?!?

I couldn't believe the trip was already over. We had a great time in San Francisco. The weather is incredible and the people are so nice. Who's ready to move there with me?

Happy 10th Anniversary!

I can't believe I've been lucky enough to be happily married to my high school sweetheart and the man of my dreams for 10 years (on June 9th)! Which also means we started dating 16 years ago (on June 10th)! Since we'll be out of town on an anniversary/baby moon trip, I may not have time to post these pictures so here goes. Happy Anniversary Baby, I love you!

A big thanks to our parents for watching little man while we get a mini-vacation! You guys rock!
