We read it at least once a day, in preparation for our beach trip.....that way I can say, "Dora puts on sunscreen, so we have to put some on too" or "See, Dora plays in the sand so it's gotta be ok." Thankfully, it seems that my master plan worked! The kid that wouldn't get off my beach chair and freaked out when sand touched his toes last year is a whole new beach loving fool! YAY! While he's still scared to go into the ocean, he loves playing in the sand! Watching him and Hannah play is quite entertaining.
At one point, Hannah took off down the beach (don't worry, Erin K. was nearby)....
But have no fear, her knight in shining Mickey Mouse trunks came to the rescue.

Apparently the kids didn't get the "keep off the dunes" memo...
Not only did my child climb to the top of the sand dune, he scooted down on his butt....who is this new kid?
Meanwhile, Chris was digging them a trench.....
Vince was skeptical of the trench (rightfully so as it turns out) but we talked him into trying it. Not too long after this picture, a giant wave engulfed their hole and drenched him. He was HIGHLY upset. We all felt so bad for him but he was a trooper! This ended the beach fun for the day. 
After his bath, we went to the grocery store and I discovered that his hair was still covered in sand. I have a feeling I may find sand in every crevice for a week after we get home! Can't wait to see what day 2 holds for us!
