We were able to take a long weekend last weekend so we packed up and headed to Washington, D.C. to go to the National Zoo. The kids really enjoyed themselves!
So did the zebras.....we told Vince they were "wrestling"....turns out the donkeys were "wrestling" too...must be the spring air!
We saw this cutie patootie panda bear.....
and this massive elephant...

Dom loved getting out of his stroller to see them too...
This chimp was literally sleeping right inside the glass....so glad he didn't wake up and scare the crap outta Dom.
And this big guy just looked impressive...and scary...
Dom and I sat out a few indoor things because they were not stroller friendly....we just sat and snacked instead :)
Ok, I don't get this kid. He screamed bloody murder when the ferris wheel at the children's museum ended but he was terrified to be on this one. Screamed the whole ride! Who knows.....

We got a hotel in Georgetown that night. Daddy and Dom passed out in the room at 7pm so Vince and I went to the pool for a bit. He was too scared (and cold) to go past the steps but he thoroughly enjoyed splashing on the steps. Good thing we didn't go to Great Wolf Lodge. We didn't stay too long then went back to the room and passed out around 8pm....I never sleep that early!
We got up the next day, had breakfast, and headed home. We had such a fun little getaway. We need more family time like that!
