Let's hear it for New York!

Our good friends and Vince's godparents, Rob and Judy, live in Manhattan and we haven't been to visit them since I was pregnant with Vince....yep, that was over 3 years ago! It was long overdue but we finally made it up there and I'm so glad we did! We had SO much fun and Vince got to spend lots of quality time with them! Hopefully we don't go another 3 years before we visit again!

We got there a few hours before Rob and Judy got off work so the 3 of us went to eat (and get delicious milkshakes) at Shake Shack......yummmmm! Then off to Central Park to play some baseball (which is what he asked for the ENTIRE trip up).....

Then we took a nice long stroll through the park (well, it felt long to a chubby pregnant lady).....

Nope, they're not related.....
Vince already learned the NY swagger....
Next came the great big toy store we'd promised him! Judy works at Tiffany's (lucky girl, right?!?!) right across the street so she met us here!
Vince was in heaven! He "needed" EVERYTHING in the store.....and I mean everything...even the Hello Kitty toys. Then we found the giant piano.....and for a mere $250,000 it could be ours!
Judy already found the way to this kid's heart.....CANDY! They shared some yummy FAO sweets!
The next morning we got up and headed to Central Park again so Vince and Rob could play together! We ran into this fun band....
so Vince and Judy just had to dance....
Then it was time for ball.....

and some other fun activities....

Meanwhile a kids baseball game was going on in the park and Vince was dying to go watch them play.....guess it's time to go see a real baseball game this year!

After our picnic lunch we headed out to go on a boat tour of NYC....
First Vince had to hail us a cab.....
He was so excited to go on the great big boat.....

and see the Statue of Liberty.....

Lastly, we decided to head to the Museum of Natural History and see some dinosaurs. Vince was in awe. He was wide-eyed and open-mouthed....very cool :)

He definitely gets his fascination with museums from his daddy....
Our last and final surprise for the day was a "train ride" to Rob and Judy's apartment. We took the subway one stop from the museum to their place but it was about the experience....and it was worth it! After we sat down to eat dinner, I think the exhaustion set in.....for all of us. We went back and crashed for the night (after practically crawling up to their 4th floor walk-up). What a great day!

I was sad to get up and leave this morning but we had a wonderful time! Maybe next time we'll go when I'm not carrying an extra 20lbs :) Thanks for having us guys! We loved every minute!

On a side note, a big thanks to Apple for keeping our child entertained for the entire trip up and back.....what was life like before iPads and iPhones??? I can't imagine!
