Brrrrrrrr......

So yeah, it's FREEZING outside....which means we didn't get out of our jammies today. Vince actually asked to do arts and crafts in the playroom this morning.....but little did he know I was gonna touch, much less PAINT his piggies! Insert picture of a freaked out child who doesn't like his feet messed with here:
Yep....that didn't go over very well...at all! It was worth it though! Look at the cute reindeer we made! (Sorry, its turned sideways and he does have a red nose but you can't see it very well!)
Then it was time to make some yummy goodies. My college roommate, Tabitha (who deserves a medal for putting up with me for 4 years) always brought me these chocolatey peanut buttery delicious "Butterfinger Bites" that her mom made every Christmas. I decided today was the day to introduce Vince. They're really simple: 1) spread generous amount of peanut butter between 2 Cheez-Its2) dip them in melted chocolate 3) let them harden.
I haven't had these in years but O M G they were as good as I remembered! Vince clearly hated them:
NOT!

CVS Christmas Party

Tonight my partner, Kristen, and I took all of our techs & interns out to Kenji Japanese Steakhouse for a Christmas dinner. I've never been to a hibachi restaurant before so I was pretty impressed! It was fun to have everyone out of the pharmacy and have conversations not revolving around prescriptions (ok, there were some of those conversations as well). Here's my ridiculously young and attractive staff:
I literally couldn't do my job without these wonderful people....they make my life so much easier! Thanks guys!

Christmas Party!

Last night was Tony's Christmas party! It was nice getting all dressed up, meeting his co-workers that I always hear about, and having way too many a few drinks. Here's me and my gorgeous husband!
As soon as the party was over we met up with some friends. Here's me with Erin and Sara. I love these ladies :)
Tonight, my partner and I are taking our techs and interns out to a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner. Looking forward to it!

Ho Ho Ho!

Today was our big Santa visit! Of course we met up with Hannah and Erin at the Children's Museum. The kids "patiently" waited in line (well, as patiently as any 2 year olds wait in line).....
Vince liked the giant teddy bears:
Even gave out some hugs:
He did a great job on Santa's lap! No tears, no screaming! Here's the "official" picture:
Vince even got to talk into the microphone and told everyone that he wanted "a castle and books" for Christmas:
I was able to snap this pic as Vince and I were finishing up. Here's Erin and Hannah talking to the "Snow Princess", waiting to get to Santa. Her Santa visit went about as well as last year.....not so great! That's ok, one day she'll get a good picture!
Than Hannah and Vince played in the little "Christmas around the world" area:

And rode the choo-choo outside the museum:
Smooching in the back of the train....shhhh don't tell her daddy!
Hannah was SO excited! Isn't she absolutely precious?!?!
Too bad she couldn't smile and giggle like this with the big jolly fella:

Where was that smile 15 minutes ago??

I can't believe Christmas is almost here! Sure hope Santa brings a castle and books for my little man :)

Squish Squash

We learned this song at storytime last week and Vince loves singing it....over and over and over.

Day o' Crafting

Considering that it was FREEZING today, I had no interest in leaving the house....or getting out of my pajamas for that matter. So, we did arts and crafts almost all day. I love that Vince loves to be creative. I saw this idea on another blog and knew that we could do it....and knew that I happened to have lots of green felt and some colorful buttons on hand....don't ask. Vince loves any chance he gets to use glue....I hope that doesn't turn into a bad habit one day! HA! I think it turned out pretty cute and its now hanging over our mantle! Then we made some cute Santas with his handprint....which looks really large in this picture. No wonder Tony always said Vince had big paws on him.
We also wrote his letter to Santa:

Lastly, we (ok, mostly me) made a keepsake ornament with his wish list, name, and date on it. I saw this in Oriental Trading Company's catalog and knew I wanted to order it (but I'm sure it can be made without buying anything...I just don't sew therefore no spools hanging out here). It came as a 12 pack so I figure I can make one each year so we always remember what he asked Santa for that year. And here it is on the tree:
Cute, huh? Hope everyone stayed warm today :) Too bad I have to actually get out of the house tomorrow....yuck!

Our Gingerbread House

Although we had a rough morning (taking a cranky 2 year old to the Bizarre Bazaar was a BAD idea), we had a good afternoon! I decided while he was napping that we would make our gingerbread house today. It was my first one so I wasn't really sure what I was doing but I think the final product turned out ok. He was so excited and was actually a big help......after he had his fill of icing. Here's my little "helper" undoing my framework:
Yep, caught red handed!
I SEE THOSE LITTLE FINGERS, BUSTER!
Attempting lattice work on the roof:
Putting the "balls" on the roof:
Its gotta be just right:
Look at the concentration on that face:
He really did have a great time. He put ALL the candy on by himself.
Me and my booger (he just discovered that he could actually EAT the candy):
Voila, our very first gingerbread house:

Not bad, huh? We're proud of our masterpiece :) Hope you guys had a great weekend!
